District to Host Energy & Connectivity Fair

This weekend District 60 is teaming up with Community Action Partners (CAP), Comp-U-dopt & ConnectWaukegan to give families the opportunity to apply for a variety of money saving local services and resources during its Energy & Connectivity Fair. 


The event will take place this Saturday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Whittier Elementary, 901 N Lewis Ave, Waukegan, IL 60085.


During the event representatives from CAP will assist families in applying for the LIHEAP,  which is designed to assist eligible low income households pay for energy services, such as gas and electricity. Qualified families are asked to bring proof of income, their energy bills, and identification in order to apply.


Additionally, representatives from Comp-U- Dopt will be on hand to help register families for a free computer, while supplies last. Ahead of the event families can reserve their computer here


FInally, District 60 staff and ConnectWaukegan will help assist families in signing up for the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program, which can reduce home internet bills for WPS families. 


Parents will only need to bring one form of identification to receive the free computer and apply to the EBB program.
