In addition to receiving a traditional grade that contributes to their overall GPA, students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses are also expected to take AP exams, which the College Board develops. These exams consist of multiple-choice questions and written responses. Unlike regular grades, AP exams are scored on a 5-point scale, with 3 typically being the minimum score accepted by most competitive colleges.
