Dear WHS Sophomores and Juniors:

 

The Board of Education has extended the deadline for students to submit their applications for the 2022 Student Board Member position. The new deadline is Sunday, December 12 at 11:59 p.m. 

 

As a reminder, application requirements are listed below.  Materials should be submitted to Nicholas Alatzakis at [email protected].

 

Student Board Member Application Requirements - A student must meet the following requirements to apply for the position of Student Board Member:

1. Be a WHS junior or sophomore student during the 2021-2022 school year.

2. Have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

3. Submit a one-page personal bio (double-spaced) outlining your abilities, goals, and reasons why you are the best choice as a Student Board Member.

4. Submit written responses to the following questions:

      a. Why are you interested in being a Student Board Member?

      b. What do you feel is the most important issue that Waukegan students face today?

      c. How would you engage your fellow students to ensure their voices are heard?

5. Provide one written reference from a teacher, administrator, or community member.

6. Provide contact information, including phone number and/or e-mail address.
