On Friday, May 8, the Waukegan Army JROTC “Bulldog Regiment” proudly hosted its 55th Annual Awards Night, honoring the outstanding achievements of its Cadets and announcing the program’s top leadership for the upcoming school year. The ceremony recognized the top 25% of cadets for their excellence in academics, community service, leadership, and patriotism.
Distinguished guests and representatives from organizations such as The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sons of the American Revolution, and Daughters of the American Revolution joined the celebration, underscoring the event’s significance within the community.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the new Regimental Commander and Regimental Command Sergeant Major—the highest cadet leadership positions. Congratulations to Cadet Colonel Ja'miyah Simmons, appointed as Regimental Commander, and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Emily Acosta, named Regimental Command Sergeant Major.
"Our Cadets exemplify the values of leadership and service," said MAJ Ron Painter, Senior Army Instructor. "This event not only celebrates their achievements but also inspires the next generation of Cadet leaders."
