Bulldogs recently competed in the 2026 ISTC STEM Challenge in partnership with Baxter International and the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition. Students worked through the engineering design process to create solutions to real challenges while learning from industry mentors.
Out of 21 teams from our Waukegan STEM Showcase, two teams advanced to present at the Polsky Exchange Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center. Their projects included:
A hospital bed designed to improve patient care and comfort
A portable support pack for children with cystic fibrosis
Special recognition to Aparna Manesh for serving as a student panelist and sharing how persistence helped improve ideas throughout the design process.
