One of the most historic and renowned high school gyms in the state of Illinois is getting ready for a BIG birthday celebration on December 9, when our basketball teams host Mundelein for what promises to be the state’s biggest birthday party!
We’re planning a series of events leading up to the Big Day and would love for Bulldogs past and present to get involved in the planning and celebration.

WHS Homecoming Parade Applications Now Open
Waukegan High School is now accepting applications from all groups and organizations interested in participating in its 2026 Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 2.
Anyone interested in registering a group or organization to participate in this year’s parade can submit their entry here. This year’s Homecoming theme is “Midnight Garden.” The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, September 23, at midnight.
The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., with participants lining up in the main parking lot at the Brookside Campus. Participants should arrive by 4:30 p.m. The parade will follow the same route through the residential streets surrounding the Brookside Campus as in recent years.

Our Junior and Senior Class Meetings are a great opportunity to get important information, ask questions, and prepare for what’s ahead.
Juniors will meet on Monday, August 31, and Seniors will meet on Monday, September 14. Both meetings will take place in the Dog Pound from 9:30–10:30 AM. Students should arrive by 9:15 AM.
We’ll cover academic expectations, graduation requirements, PreACT/ACT information, post-secondary planning, and school resources. Seniors will also receive important information about cap and gown details and graduation preparation.
Even though these are Late Start Mondays, attendance is required. We’re looking forward to seeing you there and getting the year off to a great start, because when it comes to your future, it’s always a good time to paws and plan ahead!

What a year for the Bulldogs! From celebrating 953 graduates and 66 Seal of Biliteracy recipients to earning state and national recognition in music, SkillsUSA, and career certifications, our students continued to raise the bar. 🐾 These accomplishments reflect the hard work of our students, staff, families, and community partners. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started.
Books, brains, and Bulldogs bringing the energy today! 🐾🎉 Our Brookside students who earned B’s or better celebrated at the 3rd Annual B’s or Better Bash with bungee jumping, a 24-ft rock wall, free food trucks, music, outdoor games, a photo booth, and even a dunk tank! They stayed locked in all year, and today they got to celebrate their hard work.
Students in Mr. Garcia’s class brought Probability to life through a hands-on “Probabilidad Stations” activity celebrating Asian American & Pacific Islander Month! 🎲🇵🇭 From Filipino games to cultural traditions, students explored how probability connects to real-world experiences while learning the history and significance behind each activity.
From tiny backpacks to graduation caps 🐾 Today, our soon-to-be Bulldog graduates returned to where it all began for the annual “Returning to My Roots” parade!
